Working together.

Individual Counseling

Individual therapy is a recurring, consistent appointment between you and me. We meet weekly for 45 minutes during which we address both chronic and acute issues — things that have come up in your present life that need processing, as well as longstanding challenges that need attending to. I support individuals who would like to address perinatal issues, anxiety, grief & loss, self-esteem, relationships, and sexual concerns.

Perinatal Mental Health Counseling

per·i·na·tal: the period of time when you become pregnant and up to a year after giving birth.

Perinatal is an all-encompassing term that refers to the prenatal and postpartum stages of parenthood. I take it a step further, since I believe you are fundamentally changed by parenthood and thus are ~postpartum~ in perpetuity. Perinatal counseling is a more inclusive term than its predecessor, maternal mental health, as it is intended for all parents, not just one who identifies as mother.

Wherever you are in your parenthood journey (the very beginning, prenatal, postpartum, exploring if you do or don’t want children, or TTC, to name a few) I offer perinatal mental health counseling that can support you at all stages of the process. Our perinatal work can be done as individual therapy, couples work, or a combination of the two.

I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor (PMH-C) trained by Postpartum Support International, with additional training around the intersection between lactation and perinatal mental health.

Couples Counseling & Sex Therapy

Couples sessions are committed weekly meetings between the partners in a romantic relationship—e.g., a couple or those in consensually non-monogamous relationships—and myself. These 45 minute appointments look very different from individual sessions as the relationship, and not necessarily the individuals in it, is the client. I am a CSTIP and work with couples on exploring challenges in and improving their sex lives.
